No, two tenant reference checks are included in all paid plans with lettingaproperty.com.

The Rent Protection and LetsProtect services included in Basic, Essential and Complete requires all tenants and guarantors to have passed reference checks.

If more than two reference checks are required, they must be purchased separately.

Carrying out tenant reference checks provides landlords with further peace of mind.

During referencing, tenants will have to disclose their credit history and declare any debts or County Court Judgements they have. They will also provide their employment and income details and give a positive reference from their previous landlord.

These background checks help landlords to understand whether the tenant can afford the rent and if they have had any problems or issues with owed payments in the past. Our referencing partners will validate this information and ensure nothing has been missed.

Tenant referencing is a formal background check to assess a tenant’s:

Once a tenant submits their referencing information, our referencing partners aim to have their results ready in five working days.

Once purchased, you can begin referencing from your dashboard in the lettingaproperty.com platform.

After providing some information about your property and tenancy, the tenants will be invited to fill out their details with our referencing partners.

Once complete, their information will be processed and their referencing result will be available to view in your dashboard.
